review 1: I don't know how to put into words how I feel about this book. I liked it right up to the end when it was ruined. I don't want to insult anyone, but the sham marriage really sat wrong with me. Iain having sex with his lover's sister SICKENED me. (seriously) Had I been Tavish I don't think I could have gotten past that. Also, as a gay man I could never "worship a woman with my body", and Iain being, for the most part, a bottom, I do not believe he could have either. It just felt wrong.
review 2: I received this from netgalley in exchange for a honest review. this is a sweet book. Different from her Professor's rule series that is for sure. Here Ms. Gormley brings you back to a time and place where M/M relationships are a sin and these two lovers are trying to fi
... morend their place in this world. Iain and Tavish have loved each other forever. Sometimes this wasn't seen and that is because expectations for Tavish were high. When Tavish did show Iain he cared I thought it would be to late but delightfully it wasn't. Word to the wise: Read the title of the chapters so you know if you are in the present or going into the past so that you can understand their relationship and what they are going through. As you go on in the book, you see the guffaws they have made and the love they share. These two truly are soul mates caught up in a world where there love is considered a sin and evil. As they try to do what is right for one another, they hurt each other. What is beautiful to see is even through the hurt and secrecy these two have always remained true to themselves. What I love is how they explore each other's bodies and figure out what it means to have a m/m relationship. How they find out how to make each other cry out in ecstasy and what to learn more and get closer to each other is so sweet and amazing. Interference from others though hurt them and they are torn apart in ways that is unfathomable to think about. Iain does something nuts just so they can be together and it almost tears them apart. This is a sweet love story that will have you rooting for these two soulmates. less
