review 1: This one felt a bit more fluffy than some of Lane's work, but had a lot of the elements I love in her work. The characters, both main and secondary, were quirky and appealing. There were a couple of meaty 'villains' to rail against and rally around the major characters because of. I particularly loved Dawson and his dad, and Jared's hard shell, with his underlying vulnerability grew on me as I got to know him through the story. The setting of the work that goes on behind the curtain was interesting, as well as the perspective on those out in front. A quick, mostly light read which made me feel good.
review 2: 2.5-3 starsI just liked this book…nothing more, could possibly even say it was just OK. It really d-d-d-dragged in the middle and was a little boring.
... more Jared went from being a cocky & confident star to a sniveling boyfriend in nothing flat! And Dawson was forcing him to talk about his past for pages and pages! I did really like the relationship between Benji and Dawson. But honestly, I couldn't wait for the story to end. Edit out 100 pages and it may have gotten a better rating. less
