review 1: You can’t help what family you’re born into or what lies they keep from you. You can’t help it if they mold and shape you just the way they wanted. Are monsters born or made?Antonio and Megan have a timeless issue. They were told to stay away from each other. They try, they really do. But they are drawn to each other. This story was very cute, even though maybe it shouldn't have been considering the topic. Megan and Antonio are like a modern day Romeo and Juliet in ways. They are attracted to each other and both of their parents tell them to stay away from the other, but they can’t help it. Even though this story is for the Young Adults, I still felt myself involved in the story. I was on Megan’s side and fighting for her and her love for Antonio, I know how diff... moreicult Irish parents can be. Megan and Antonio were both likeable and strong characters. At the beginning of the story Megan seemed shy and quiet, but by the end of the story we saw another side of her that I really enjoyed. I liked Antonio’s character and all the passion that he exuded. He was so protective of not only Megan but of her sister Erin. Although this story had some editing mishaps, I was able to look past that and enjoy the ride that the author was taking me on. I look forward to reading the other books in the series. I would recommend this story to anyone who at one time may have felt like their families were keeping them from their dreams and anyone who enjoys a classic story of young love.
review 2: I liked Antonio and Megan and their story but I just didn't fall in love with them which is really to bad. I must say that I love mob romance themes and this book was well written in terms of describing the mob life(it's ugly and you can't sugarcoat shit). However I feel like this story had so much potential but then it all kind of fell apart about 25% into the book. Sometimes the main characters aggravated the shit out of me because they act so immature and spoiled and I had to keep reminding myself that they are only kids who are still in high school but still I would have liked if they were a bit older..oh well.Let me throw this out there……I HATE,HATE Megan's mom….what a Bitch she is and her holier than thou attitude is piss poor that's for sure. I'd recommend this book to any of you, give it a try you might love it but I think I am going to stop with this one and not read the rest in the series. less
