review 1: Honestly I was a little disappointed. I enjoyed it I did, I've read far worse. But it was insanely predictable and everyone was just too good. There was just no human flaws in the characters and they acted in the most ideal way you'd want to be able to act in a bad situation.I wasn't into the clairvoyance stuff.I also wasn't into the sex scenes they just felt forced to me.
review 2: A decent "whodunnit"-style novel that launches the Forensic Instincts series, and does a great job of casting suspicion across its plentiful characters. The sign of a good mystery is one that you cannot simply deduce the motive and conclusion to, in my eyes, and in that regard, "The Girl Who Disappeared Twice" certainly kept me guessing. This book also does a pretty good job of cre
... moreating a sense of dread, in that, once Krissy is gone, for the longest time, the reader may believe she has possibly met an untimely end. I do wish this had kept up throughout the novel, but it's possible that would have affected the overall storyline. It doesn't really lose anything by interspersing Krissy scenes, thankfully. There are probably some loose comparisons to a "CSI"-type story, especially because this is a team series in that vein, but at least for this book, it fits more of a detective motif and less of a forensic search. You will note that much of the investigation is based on pure legwork and interviews. There is almost a throwback feel to the novel to something from the pulp/noir genre, which was kind of fun.In some ways, this book has similarities with the hit novel "Gone Girl", which I thought had its flaws and tried to be too many things in one. The simplicity of "The Girl Who Disappeared Twice" is that it truly only attempts to be a mystery novel and as a result, succeeds at that endeavor. Definitely a good start to this series. less

The book was just OK. The characters were very 2 dimensional. The plot was predictable.
