When a mysterious message is left for him, Sloane knows her father's in over his head. Determined to find out the truth, Sloane discovers a deadly secret buried in his past that has made him the target of a power-hungry mobster wit... moreh a lethal agenda and nothing to lose.Sloane is desperate to save her father, but to do so she must hold on to secrets of her own - especially from FBI Special Agent Derek Parker, the man she has grown to love deeply. She knows she must tell him everything, but how can she betray her father's confidence? Can a couple who's faced so much survive this ultimate test of trust? (From Amazon)A great romantic suspense novel
review 2: I am usually a fan of Andrea Kane, but this book left me disappointed. To be honest, the last third of the book, I skip read. There was far too much detail, the inner dialogue seemed more pedantic than informative or entertaining. Overall the premise was good but it just didn't grab me like her previous novels. Some of the dialogue even seemed (dare I say it) corny. But only some of it. I gave it 3 stars because what wasn't pedantic or corny was entertaining, it was just unfortunate that it was sporadic in keeping my attention. less
