review 1: Novel concept, bravo! Polychromatic world-building, well done. A too Macho-man, noted biologist, with an ever-present 5 o'clock shadow ... a gentleman-dude with an undefined damaged past and a penchant for pucker factor danger hires out with a big-bore slung over his wide shoulders and a cigar clenched 'tween his pearly whites to travel the interstellar shipping routes in search of sordid man-killers. I want more.
review 2: Very fun pulp science-fiction. I'll even nudge this novella up a bit to 3.5 stars because it does a good job of delivering exactly what it promises — monster-killin' adventure on a far-off world. It reads like an old-time adventure story, and a 99 cent ebook is a great platform for this kind of fiction. I did catch a few distracting proofi
