review 1: This beautifully illustrated book is one of these children's books which will also inspire and entertain the adult reader. The message revealed through this engaging tale is that every choice you make, whether good or bad, can make a difference. It illustrates the so-called "butterfly effect" in a way that even the youngest child will understand, yet will also engage the adult reader.Andrews weaves together the stories of four little boys who each grew up wanting to make a difference to the world. Norman Borlaug, Henry Wallace, George Washington Carver and Moses Carver each played a key role in developing a special food that ultimately helped feed two billion people. Each of the four stories is well told and the way each character influenced the other is clearly demonstrate... mored. Instead of working forward chronologically, Andrews works backwards, and the adult reading the story may have to point out the significance of the names. Otherwise, an excellent book with a clear Christian message. I give it 4 out of 5 and look forward to passing it on to my grandchildren whom I know will love it.
review 2: Before I have done my own review, I let my son who just recently turned 13 to read it first. I forgot he is no longer a boy but he is a bookworm like me and so I am proud to say this book review is special as my son took active participation. This book is beautiful illustrated in watercolors that brings the story alive in vivid colors that little children can truly appreciate. But there is more that meets the eye. This is about how you can change the world and make it a better place for everyone and it all starts when a child dreams. God made you unique and you have a choices and if it’s the right one it will affect future generations.Big or small everything matters and this is what the story is all about one boy who started it all and how it created a butterfly effect. It is interwoven tale that I truly believe if this was place in every child’s hands it will make influence them make a difference.I highly recommend this book for teachers and parents especially that the Christmas season is coming very soon. It will be a splendid gift for any child not only because of it’s pretty pages but the message it self which the Author have made it simple yet powerful enough for children to understand how good actions can affect lives.NOTE: I RECEIVED THIS BOOK FROM THOMAS NELSON AS PART OF THEIR BOOK REVIEW PROGRAM.
