review 1: “What does humanity need to do, individually and collectively, to restore itself to the pathway toward successful civilization?”While the man who thought he was the least prepared to lead the summit will need to submit the answer to Gabriel, he’s got others who will help him – great historical figures like Joan D’Ark, Winston Churchill, and numerous others.This book is interesting to read because Andy describes how each figure would answer the Question. However, since I haven’t read the Traveler’s Gift, it is sort of hard to get into the book without knowing the background history – possible, but just hard.I guess I expected more from this book, because I’ve heard high praise for Traveler’s Gift and I have enjoyed Heart Mender. However, if you have read... more the Traveler’s Gift, this would be a good ending to the story.
review 2: Beautiful. Not only were the intricacies of each sub story woven together masterfully, each bringing with it a beautiful and poignant lesson, the Everyman concept pulled me to the table and I wanted to be a part of the great dialogues between some of history's most learned men and courageous women! Did not put this book down until I finished the last page. I don't usually read books twice. This book along with The Traveler's Gift, also by Andrews, is going to become a family favorite in our home. less
