review 1: This book is another revolutionary one for me. I had been exposed to some of the ideas he writes on but he brings everything together in well written prose. I do think Andy perhaps goes a little too far at times with seeing Christianity fundamentally being about culture making, but his nuanced approach, sweeping biblical theology of culture and keen insights into the "secular" world make the argument hard to resist. A must read for any Christian thinking about how to engage the culture around them. I will be thinking about this book for while.
review 2: I really like the concepts in this book. The idea that we are all creative because we are formed in the image of God. God was the original creator and he has given us the raw materials to continue creating. Our
... more creativity can be used for good or evil. The other idea that was helpful was that any current cultural good will only be disgarded when something new or better replaces it. We can try all we want to tell people to avoid a particular cultural good, but until something comes along that we can show people is better than what we currently have, they will continue to consume that which already is. We find our sweet spot when we are living out God's will for our lives. less

Not many books are "must reads", but I believe this one should fall in that category.

felt a little old hat, but the section on cultural power was really great.

A bit repetitive, but it does what it does, well.
