review 1: So this one has a long storyline and a lot of fill but it was low on the heat. Alpha Special Forces lost because his woman was killed a year ago so now he has become a well oiled machine for missions. Then when his woman is found alive he can not come to terms with the man he wants to be and turn their relationship into a D/s one. They spend the majority of the book arguing about why he can't just give in to his urges with her. They do get to a few hot and steamy scenes and they are good. I think i was expecting more hot and steamy so for me this was a bit of let down and I skimmed through most of the middle of the book.
review 2: Garrett lost the love of his life, Sage, a year ago. Since then, he has been digger deeper into his darker side, for fear of complet... moreely losing Sage from his heart. When a mission to save some kidnapped aid workers finds Sage alive (but not necessarily well) Garrett world is thrown into turmoil. Sage, also, finds adjusting difficult, but when she finds out what Garrett's darker side entails, she goes all out to complete this mission, to get her man back, in her bed.OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! this was, to say the least, a little different in the military dude/BDSM theme, in that SHE wanted and HE was fighting it! We get to hear from Garrett AND Sage, and thats a good thing. Cos both these characters are messed up, what with Sage being kidnapped and sold on, and Garrett still trying to keep Sage in his head and his heart, even after he was told she was dead. Sage is strong, and determined and will get her man, and Garrett is alos strong and determined to protect her...from him. I LOVED Uncle Wyatt and his words of wisdom to Garrett, that made him see sense, and i LOVE LOVE LOVE that stories have been laid down for the next couple of books. They will appear on my wish list, just as soon as.I really liked that, although there is sexual tension, and some serious making out up against a tree, Sage and Garrett only come together in a scene, just once or twice! It does deal with kidnapping, torture, mutilation, and is quite violent, well dealing with human traffickers aint gonna be a walk in the park, so its on the over 18 shelf. less
