review 1: Giada - new mage (witch) - 4 months old - as human a brilliant chemist...Logan - son of King Arthur & Gwenivere - Gwenivere raised him in the human world, though he regularly visited the mageverse - he witnessed an adopted brother, who when turned to vampire, went mad, and Arthur had to kill him, and Logan feared that he may also go mad and require his father to kill him, so he put off turning.But someone is after the the Latents - killing 10 or more, and someone is targeting Logan... so Arthur & Gwenivere send Giada, who is too new for Logan to know, to protect him, with strict instructions not to have sex with him (a vampire is made by a Latent having sex with him 3 times) because they did not want him to think they were forcing him into the change...They are after him w... moreith bombs... he is on the bomb squad, and she is observing him for a month... she magically disarms two bombs - but unfortunately misses a 3rd, back up bomb, and one on the team dies.The werewolf family of the last book, where the son was killing women are the ones out to get Arthur via Logan... and the werewolf family is following one they call the Sorceror... Smoke is an ancient - of the Sidhe - and takes the form of a cat... he was Arthur's companion growing up and is now Giada's companion... when the Sorceror finds out about the cat, he becomes his target... and he captures the cat, draining his power - but Smoke pushes all of his power at him and overwhelms him, and escapes... next book is about him...Giada sleeps with Arthur twice (once under Mordrid's influence, and once because she felt it was right)... and the 2nd time, he figures out she's mage... at first angered, he then wants to complete the change with her... she reluctantly agrees... and then they Truebond, to strengthen their powers, but secretly because each loves the other... so after they succeed in saving the children, destroying the werewolves (not the Sorceror), they are connected and cannot hide their love... and are truly bonded... ahhhhh
review 2: I have enjoyed the few books in this series and was excited to read this newest addition. I think it was quite good in the sense that it was a stand-alone story that linked to the other books in this series. However, there was just a feel of the dialogue being a bit on the fussy side -- it was probably just me. However, I enjoyed the story as a whole and was glad I had an opportunity to read it. Otherwise, I would have not encountered Arthur Pendragon's "other" son -- not Mordred, the son he had with his half-sister, but his own son, the one that never shows up in the legends. And I have to add, I am still "blown away" that King Arthur is really a vampire. What a hoot . . . less
