review 1: This is a great short story by Ann Charles that goes along with The Deadwood Humorous Mystery series. There are also several other entertaining short stories in this book too. If you are a fan of the Deadwood series definitely get this one because a lot is explained about how and where Violet got her famous purple boots and also her relationship with her sister Susan is explained. If you aren't a fan of the series...I definitely recommend it for a fun read!

I absolutely enjoy Ann's "shorts" between series books. They give me just enough insight into why my favorite characters do what they do, and how they have ended up to be where they are today. less
