review 1: This book by Anna Dewdney is my favorite from her. Dad, it seems, is a stay at home dad. He spends the day making a mini house with Nelly. They take a trip to the hardware store to find paint for the house. In the end, Nelly sleeps in her cozy house that she made with her dad.I love that dad understands Nelly. When Nelly gets lost and afraid, he makes her laugh and gives her a big hug. The little flashlight he buys for her little house is perfect. This is a very simple and sweet story about the relationship between daddy and daughter. It is very heartwarming.A fifth star for the sweetness and lightheartedness of the story. What a perfect book for bedtime reading between dad and daughter!
