review 1: I haven't read the first two books in the series. However, that doesn't seem to have any affect on my grasp. This book is a lot like Mills and Boons than a Georgian crime/suspense thriller. There a lot of characters that are introduced on whim but had little bearing on the plot. The narration lacked a build up. I skimmed through at least 25 percent of the book. Those sections are painfully stretched.
review 2: Quite surprised when the author decided to put an end to the big 'wait' of this series. Just when I was getting bored with the pushes and pulls between the two leads then bam! Just like that. I even suspected we were introduced the third wheel to spice up the dynamic. Boy am I wrong. The mystery itself is ok. There were a couple of suspects to confuse you
... more a bit, but the way the real culprit emerged from time to time at odd interval was quite telling. For me, the first one still stands out as the best. Although, my enthusiam has been waning somewhat, I'll still be those in line when the next book hits the stand. 3 and 1/2 stars less

I really enjoyed this book. I was invested with the characters and hated to see it end.
