review 1: Awesome continuation of the Vampire Chronicles. Anne Rice has fleshed out some of the characters we already knew and added some that we didn't. Of course, Lestat is central along with Marius, Louis, Maharet, Mekare and others too numerous to list. Wonderful storytelling and great jaunts into the past. I enjoyed it very much and hope she continues with the series even more. In fact I liked it so well, I'm going to go back and reread the entire series from beginning to end which I have not done for a very long time!! Recommend to anyone who loves this series and I wish all happy reading!!! review 2: I couldn't help but find out what happened to Lestat...and I can't help but think the stories have devolved into the absurd. I read the original trilogy many, many ye... morears ago and loved it. I reread the trilogy some years after that, and still thought it was good. It's hard to distinguish (without reading them all again) if the writing has gotten worse or if my own tastes have changed, though I suspect it's a combination of both. less
