review 1: "The Real Boy" by Anne Ursu was a great book and I really loved it. There is a boy Oscar who lives with a wizard named Master Caleb and his Apprentice named Wolf. Wolf is very mean to Oscar and Oscar doesn't like him. One day when Master Caleb is gone, Wolf goes into the woods with his friend. When he doesn't return for a while, a wizard brings him back in sack. Wolf had died in the forest! With Master Caleb being gone, shy Oscar has to watch the shop. When the healer's apprentice comes in, Oscar finds out that the city kids are getting sick and need help. Will Oscar be able to save the city kids? Will Master Caleb ever come back? Find out in "The Real Boy".

... morehat fits into society. The city of Asteri and the forest of Barrow are changing and evolving with time and maybe not for the best of the community. The children are becoming sick and something is lurking in the forest. Oscar plans to live his life the way he always has and not have anything to do with the sickness. Once Caleb leaves the city and Wolf is killed, Callie and Oscar must join forces to help the sick children of the city. Oscar has to use his knowledge because the whole city depends on him. This book is a great tale to put on a bookshelf in a classroom because it is a Newbery Award winner and shows students that they can achieve more than they believe if they just work hard. less
