review 1: This is a magnificent work! I enjoyed the story enough to bully my 3 teenagers to read it, ages 14, 15 and 16. All three are hooked, and we have recommended the title to a few friends, both teenage and adult. All who have undertaken the challenge are thrilled with the story as well! As a parent, I appreciate Ms. Zoelle keeping the book family friendly. No sexual scenes or horrible language to inundate the young adults with. We are subjected to enough of that in every aspect of life these days, it is so refreshing to know that we can all curl up with a wonderful book and escape into Ren's new world, experiencing all the wonders along with her =) Kudos to Ms. Zoelle, we anxiously await book #2, and hope she makes this a series of more than 4 books!
review 2: I ... moreGOT TO SAY THAT IS ONE BEAUTFUL, STRIKING AND GROGEOUS COVER! Absolutely entrancing. It's captured my attention and drew me in and I was completely helpless. WOW. JUST WOW. I love it! As for the book;It starts fast, then slows down, goes faster, then slows down again. Sometimes I was confused and there's so much going on even when everything moves slow.BUT.....Overall it is acquire a touching book. Everything Ren- the heroin- does is for her brother- Christian, never stopping to think of the consequences she may endure. She never thinks about her safety or herself at all. She's willing to give up her whole damn life for those she loves. She's cunning, strong, beautiful and loyal to the end. I loved her and her group of friends. They too were good people. Constantine was a funny guy! I loved him. There's still SO much to him and a lot more to figure out. I was waiting for things to happen with Dare but nothing in this book so next one please! That really got me bummed I love a bit of romance too Ya'know! less
