review 1: Firstly, I wonder why this book is getting such bad reviews... It is not action-packed as the previous ones; but, damn, there's a reason for this! I am sure it was Anon's intention to tell us more about the Bourbon Kid. And to make it less serious, he whips out Sanchez the dork, Elvis, Mystic Lady, Invincible Angus, and the dumb judges at the X Factor meets Pop Idol show, and yes, there is a Simon Cowel paralell o-o... And of course some hilarious moments. To be honest, this books is the funniest of all three! It was funny to read about the performances of the copycats of famous singers... xD Especially Frank Sinatra and Janis Joplin.Zombies are not lame, for fuck's sake, they are not clichéd in this book, they are even depicted as smart! I mean, which zombie steals a van ... moreand drives off while blasting awful music (-cough- Tom Jones -cough-) ?! :'DAnd holy fuck, some twists here... The Bourbon Kid has a heart. Uh, what?! I was even crying while reading chapter 63... ;_; It was so touching. And I USUALLY LAUGH AT SUCH CORNY SCENES... me, such a sarcastic person! That's really some skill there! All in all, this book is maybe not the best from the quadrilogy, but it is deinitely the funniest one!
review 2: This is the third in the series following The Book with No Name and the Eye of the Moon. I found the pace in this book a lot slower than the previous ones and the story line a great deal tamer. There was less violence but what violence was there was much more focused on individuals rather than the indiscriminate killing found in the previous novels. The setting was different this time although some of the characters were the same e.g. Sanchez, Elvis the Bourbon Kid. The killing was mainly the contestants in a talent contest, a T.V. talent show pop idol meets the X factor. The title of the contest was the return of the dead. Some of the acts were copy cats and others had returned from the dead. The contestants were being murdered one by one. Depending on who won the contest either a deal would be done with the devil or the hotel Pasadena were the contest was held would fall into hell.Throughout this the Bourbon kid did what he does best and kills without remorse, but for the first time there is a chink in his armour as he shows he has a heart by not killing a contestant who reminded him of the girl he met ten years ago. Of course it wouldn't be a book by anonymous without the appearance of the undead to reeked havoc in the end. The murders as usual are described in detail but I still felt it was not as graphic as the first two novels. It is however the funniest and most violent of them all.The last sentence leaves it open for the return of The Bourbon Kid. Please, oh please release a fourth novel. As with all of The Book With No Name books, this one does not fail to disappoint. It is entertaining and different from anything else out there. Anonymous is one of the most original and exciting writers out there. Whoever he or she is.... less

volet 3 - peut être le moins "entrainant" de la série, mais quand même addictif !
