review 1: This book made me more confused than ever. Not sure what I believe. Everyone in the old testament is crazy, but the stories in the new testament were inspiring and interesting. The book itself was a little hard to get through, the writing not being very engaging. But that's what you get with old books, and adaptations of them. The added blocks of text explaining the context saved my life! This book I think is a good way to understand the stories of the bible without having to trudge through the text of the bible itself.
review 2: Would give a 3 and a half stars if possible. I am a lover of the Bible and have read other books similar to this. My issue was that things were left out that were needed to allow those new the stories a full understanding. I also found... more some of the stories written out of order which again led to confusion. That being said I thought they included a lot do stories and information that is routinely left out of study school lessons and church for some reason. less
