review 1: Struggling to finish this book... I'm not even half way and I want to quit. Blood song was definitely one of the better books I've read this year and as soon as I finished, I couldn't wait to start Tower Lord... so disappointed with the silly characters and sub plots. I may have to scan the rest but right now I'm frustrated and need a break from this book and hope for better on the next one.
review 2: The author introduced an entirely unexpected - but also entirely welcomed - twist to the plotline he left us at in Blood Song. The willingness of the author to banish major characters into permanent oblivion - a device otherwise known as 'death' - or to heavily cripple them, either physically or otherwise, gives the story a grisly and realistic touch, an element
... morewhich is reminiscent of The Game of Thrones and which is remarkably well-harmonised into the plot. The ascending grade (from a 4* to 5*) that it deserves also indicates this reader's avid interest in reading the next book of this series as well as my growing appreciation of his vivid writing style. less

Generic, but an enjoyable light read. Probably not as good as the first one in this series.

Stopped at page 150. It took me a long time to get there, and it wasn't drawing me in

A great sequel. I enjoyed Blood Song a bit more.
