review 1: I really liked the premise of the book, teenagers as part of a volunteer Search and Rescue team find a murdered girl instead of the lost hiker they were searching for. The mystery and intrigue were good. I think my only qualms were that two of the three were a little annoying. I would have preferred if we'd just stuck with Alexis and the story feels a little stripped down which is exactly what makes it a good book for students who don't really like to read. So, I'm conflicted, hence three stars instead of four or five.
review 2: I enjoy reading about teens being part of a search party. It's so neat that the writer was inspired by the real Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue. Even young people can head their own search party within the Search and... more Rescue team. However, I am skeptical of teens solving a murder case. It kept me out of the story off and on when the three main characters work on solving a serial murder case. less
