review 1: Pearl Robinson, is a beautiful and smart forty year-old divorcee but has not had a date for over two years. Alexandre Chevalier, a young French, Internet success story, when she bumps into him face to face, she’s stunned by his charm, beauty and sophistication, and startled by her strong feelings and desire for a man fifteen years her junior.Pearl doesn't believe there is a man out there for her. She has never had a relationship that she can say she was truly in love. At her age she thinks it will never happen. It just isn't in the cards.Alexandre has had a rough childhood and does not trust easily. When he sees Pearl for the first time he is smitten and can't keep her off of his mind. The couple begins a passionate affair and Pearl’s body is awakened in ways she never ... moreimagined possible. She is consumed by him and his magical touch. But secrets, jealous family members and other external forces are threatening to pull them apart. From the moment Pearl meets Alexandre she is struck by the all consuming passion that flares between the two. It is so strong, like an invisible pull that they can't seem to stay apart. Pearl and Alexandre truly love each other but hurdles just keep coming from every direction trying to keep them apart. This is a fast paced love story with lots of twists and turns that will keep you wondering just what will happen next. The book flows well and it is well written. The author does a good job at relaying the feelings and understanding the emotions that these two are going thru. This is book 1 in a series pick up your copy! This book was a very good read and I would recommend it.
review 2: This is book 1 of The Shades of Pearl trilogy. I enjoyed the book but at times I though it was dragging. I will continue to read this trilogy because it is food just a bit dawn out at times. Pearl is a 40 year old divorcee who can not find a man that she wants to spend more than on night with. She has no children just a best friend who is married and has started a family and a brother across the continent, who is t good for her ego or confidence. She is a successful woman just lonely. Then she meets Alexandre. He and his sister are very successful rich people. Alexandre causes this spark she has never had before and acts like a teen swooning. Although he is 15 years her junior she thinks this is just what the doctor ordered. She starts this "thing" with Alexandre but will it get ruined before it even gets started because she doesn't disclose how she happened to run into him and his sister? Can they have a HEA, The cards seem to be stoked against them. less

Alexandre is still amazeballs - you can see he is hiding something dark and damning yet he is the lovelist man I've read in a while now - so in love with him!!! He has captured my heart and spirit like no other character in a while. He is young yet mature and gorunded on so many levels. In the dictionary next to 'a beautiful mind' they should have a picture of my dear Alexandre. He is so charming, strong, sweet, kind, rough yet oh so lovely. And I cannot wait to meet Rex either - that should be an interesting relationship. Oh Pearl - stay strong and do not let your insercurities or rather what other peopel think get to you. Hang on to that man wiht all your might - he is so worth it. And wow oh wow can he make you come and come - I mean seriously this is a man's man girl - hold on with both hands. And you are so happy and free, you just seem so happy with him. Oh, and... can you punch your brother please!!!Loving this series!!!

Hey Moms…do you desire to be drooled upon by a gorgeous much younger man? Swooned by a European God? Wined and dined by a bazillionaire? If so, you HAVE to read Shades of Pearl by Arianne Richmonde! A quick read that is hot and sizzling topped with a bit of funny. The firefighter scene will have you calling 911 to put your fire out! Looking forward to the weekend where I can escape by locking myself in the bathroom, away from the mayhem, to read books 2 & 3, Shadows of Pearl and Shimmers of Pearl. Now…where did I put that fire extinguisher? -Kasey
