review 1: The first book was enjoyable; I really loved the way the author wrote, loved the characters, loved the plot. However; this second book confused me and Pearl was written in a much more immature light. She's 40? Hmm, didn't seem like it. SPOILERSThe first book we are introduced to Pearl and it is clear that she hasn't had a great sex life and is semi interested in a little rough play. She gets her wildest fantasies answered when she meets her new boy toy who is such a gentlemen he refuses to whip her with anything but a feather. Second book: Pearl explores her interest with another female, goes weirdo immature girlfriend on her man and develops insane jealousy towards his sister. The author has me confused with Pearl; does she want kinky fuckery? Does she want other women? D... moreoes Alexandre, the hot alpha sexy stud of a man fulfill her (because he sure would fulfill 99% of normal women)?Another HUGE issue I had was the plot. Pearl can't stand anything to do with his sister, even throws a "possible incest" assumption jab and completely disregards the fact that her sister in law to be was about to spend huge Benjamins on a wedding dress for her. That totally sounds like a serial killer move to me. *sarcasm* Pearl, the gullible one, receives a call from Alexandre's ex, believes her warning 100% before doing the adult thing which would be: confronting her with Alexander present. HELLO PEARL..THIS IS HIS EX FIANCE...the one person you SHOULD be on guard for.So, what does she do? She jumps out of airport windows to escape her sexy ass french fiance and his presumed serial killer sister. The author had me hooked on the first but lost me on the second. I dont get pearl and what really pissed me off is Pearl lost him because she was too immature to hold on to a man 15 years her junior. A man who clearly stated his distaste for immaturity. I have to read the third, unfortunately, because I can't stand not knowing what happens next.
review 2: This is the BOMB series - so loving it!!!OMG... I think Pearl has lost it hahaa LOL I love Pearl - she is just an amazing woman, friend, sister and Aunt. She is strong yet loving. She is independent and stands up for herself for the most part, but especially asserts her independence with Alexandre. Thye are a great balance and make a wonderful couple.And my beautiful Alexandre - I can totally imagine him and just want to love on him. He is too adorable for his own good and way too smart for his age. He is a god in his own right and is just beautiful.This series is so good - so much humor, love, twists and turns and the steamy sex scenes, too good!!! less
