review 1: This book was such a pleasant surprise. Not only did you get the first 3 books from Alexandre's perspective, you get a lot more of the story of Pearl & Alexandre. I was expecting the story to end similarly to Pearl #3, but it didn't, the story just kept going and I was so pleased to have a glimpse into this amazing couple's future. It seems they are setting us up for a spin off with Elodie, but I'm not sure how I feel about that, she kind of annoyed me in these books. This was a fantastic end to the series and one I will recommend to all my friends who love a contemporary romance. It has love, strong characters, intriguing story lines, a beautiful man, a 40 year old woman and a hea.

... moreew Copy from the AuthorThe book is the fifth volume of the Pearl Trilogy series and it tells Pearl Robinson and Alexandre Chevalier’s adventures but this time with Alexandre’s point of view on the past but also future events.I really like this author because she succeeds in avoiding clichés and also because of her writing style. Her characters are spirited and vibrant. And this volume doesn’t make an exception; I found it as successful as the others. The only weak point of the book is the beginning which recounts the past events and if you’ve read the first three volumes that can be quite boring even with the male point of view (which is interesting all the same) but the rest is worth the shot, and this is the strong point of the book, what gives it also a little exotic side. The pace is sustained, we want to know the rest. The first part owes its originality to the male point of view which gives a new view of things, describes the new events which occur during the first trilogy and allows understanding of some of Alexandre’s actions. The second part is quite original with lots of new developments and secondary plots. In the end we know what has become of them, and I really appreciated that. You can say the book takes place in two parts: the first finishes in the end of the first trilogy and the second carry on with Alexandre and Pearl’s story. In the first part, we have again the same feelings and the same ambiance that in the previous books and according to the events, namely frivolity, humor, complicity, but the tension of the story and the male tension felt by Alexandre too. All of this without being sorrowful or excessive once more! The second part is very original and the author succeeds once more in maintaining the reader’s attention, on one hand because we want to know what will occur to Alexandre and Pearl, but by adding suspense as well and also by highlighting the heroes’ relatives who are important secondary characters.I was pleasantly surprised at the end of my reading, I didn’t expect all these events at all, the author knew how to arouse my curiosity and the end (which is captivating) gives all the answers. We don’t have lots of questions compared to the first three volumes. Our heroes are in the same towns as in the first volumes but the second part of the story takes place in New York and in the Caribbean. The main and the secondary characters are entirely plausible; they are well done and well written, their natures are well shaped and we see their evolution in the good as in the bad direction. Our heroes and their relatives are extremely lively, colorful and endearing. We vibrate at the same time as them, we are afraid for them in the good as in the bad moments and we want them to have their happy ending. The sexual tension between the heroes is always strongly present and that throughout the book. The sex scenes are still as spicy, perhaps more because of Alexandre’s point of view on the things: the point of view of a man changes everything!  The cheeky dialogs are still very delicious. The volume shows well through Alexandre’s point of view that we see what we want to see and the author causes the reader to think about it through her tale; the hero seeing and living some things but not always understanding Pearl who sees events differently. Arianne Richmonde once again wanted to show that the discovery of sexuality and love is ageless and that you must not put a damper on the discovery of sexuality but this time through Alexandre Chevalier and that produces a little unusual side. Here, the difference is a complementary point and the trust depends on lots of factors which have nothing to do with age and that whatever the age of the gender.Without being original, the author takes us in her world where the plot is still as rich and bouncy that in the previous books! And for a fifth volume it’s very appealing! less
