review 1: Nice story, but less engaging, yet the end was the most unpredictable. There were point of the story that had never been transcribed by, Arthur, like natural death of the teacher, and the surprising end of the relation of the Duke.Over and above everyone will certainly like it not only because of, Sherlock, but also because of and unpredictable ending. -Over and out Rao Umar
review 2: What's to be made of the ample Thorneycroft Huxtable's entrance onto the small stage at Baker Street? He is prostrate on the bearskin hearth-rug like a ponderous piece of wreckage! With a pillow under his head and brandy for his lips, the striken man is revived. Huxtable is the founder and principal of the Priory School, the finest and most sel
... moreect of schools for young men in England. The worst has happened, and Huxtable requests Sherlock Holmes to board the next train with him for a resolution of a most unfortunate mystery. The only son and heir of the Duke of Holdernesse has been abducted after only two weeks of enrollment. His father is "certainly one of the greatest (and wealthiest) subjects of the Crown". In fact, he is offering a reward of 6,000 pounds to anyone who can tell him where his son is and name of the person who has taken him.Enrollment came after a sad decision was made by his father and mother. They separated, with his mother, whom the boy clearly favored, moving to the South of France. What could have persuaded the ten year old heir to exit his second floor window, fully dressed in his Eton uniform, into the dark of night? And why did Heidegger, the German master pursue him in haste on his bicycle? Couldn't a grown man overtake a boy on foot?A local map of the forest and moor, bicycle Palmer and Dunlop tires, the squalid inn of Reuben Hayes, and the Duke's abiding secretary are all pieces of the puzzle which ultimately fit perfectly.Holmes requests that a check be made in the amount of 6,000 pounds and deposited to Capital and Counties Bank, Oxford Street branch, as they are his agents. The request was made of the Duke before the case was solved...it was not an empty gesture with the Great Sleuth on the case! Highly Recommended. less

A nice, quick listen (I had the audiobook); a typical Sherlock Holmes story.
