review 1: What a crazy and funny story! This was my first Paasilinna-book, and definitely not the last. I have laughed, shook my head and been thoroughly entertained. If you want to read a different kind of book, try this one!The Finnish people don't believe in the old gods any more, and the Thundergod want to do something about this. He sends his son, Rutja, to Finland, and the crazy journey to get the Finnish people to convert to this new/old religion begins.
review 2: I don't think that Arto Paasilinna is able to write a book that doesn't at least make you smile. The wonderful thing about him is his creativity. Not one story is even remotely like the other yet still he manages to be funny, no matter the topic. This time, it's Finnish Gods. I loved getting to read abou
... moret them all (and they DO exist too) and if I were Ukko and Co. I'd be pissed as well that no one believes in me anymore. No wonder that he sent his son Rutja down to Finland to change that and make sure that the Finns remember them. If you need your mood lifted, you should make sure to pick up some of Paasilinna's books. No matter which one, they're all good. less

Another book, by a Finnish writer and another one who tells me "I really like the Finnish style" :)

Divinità si reincarna e ricrea un culto atavico. Humor finnico: allegro, ma scontato.
