review 1: This was a fun second book about an apartment building full of supernatural tenants. In this case, the best friend of the heroine of the first novel has moved in as a surprise to her friend while that friend is out of town for a while. She is a no-nonsense public defender who is less than thin, wears glasses, and is disappointed with her love life. Next thing she knows, she ends up in bed and romantically attached to the hunky guy upstairs. What she doesn't know is that he is one of the supernatural set--that she doesn't believe in. There is a subplot with some other tenants, and one gets the new boyfriend in trouble and causes our heroine to come to terms with her new love. There are some major unanswered questions for me, but overall the book was a light read. And it see... morems that there will be a theme of renting out that same apartment and humans hooking up with the supernatural residents. I wonder who will be next.
review 2: A really whitty style of writing that is also fresh and extremely entertaining. I loved Roz, she represents most of the women I know... a little insecure with hang ups on almost everything. Then comes the hot werewolf! My oh my, I defy anyone that would not fall in love with this character. Sweet, sensitive and clueless but very cute. The story is predominantly a great romance, but explores crime and a variety of issues that just make an amazingly phenominal read. I was a fan from the first book...this has just confirmed what a talented author can produce. Love It!! less
