review 1: Probably not the best manga to read when you're waiting for your delicious take-out to be delivered, but I loved the characters and their relationship is adorable. Hanayu wants nothing more than to be a sushi chef, but her family owns a pastry shop. Hyuga is the only son of a sushi family and Hanayu is determined to marry her way into his family. But when Hyuga asks her out, and actually seems to like her for ... well, her, she starts feeling guilty. While I fought with myself about whether I like Hanayu and her selfish plan to achieve her dreams, I ended up really liking her and liking Hyuga even more! The art is not great and something the dialogue is confusing. But I'm sold on the series and will look for more volumes in the future.
review 2: I wasn't partic... moreularly drawn to this manga. In fact, after I got a few chapters into it; it clearly pissed me off to no ends. Ashitaba is a fairly selfish girl who has the dream of becoming a sushi chef. Though she is the daughter of a pastry chef, and set to take over his business. Hyuga is the son of a sushi family, but is extraordinarily talented at making sweets. He also happens to really like Ashitaba. While I learned a lot of great cooking tricks in this manga the plot really irritated me. less
