review 1: This book moved at a good clip. One of the things that bothers me though is that many of the characters seem to wind up "really, totally completely dead" to quote or misquote "The Wizard of Oz".However, me met several new characters, and were given a purpose for the characters from Blood Memories (which I read after this one). Just a recommendation - read them in the right order and they both make more sense.Overall, a good read, and although there is a love story (Eleisha and William) it isn't a romance.
review 2: This is part 2 of what is probably going to be a trilogy series. In this part, Eleisha, Wade & Philip, continue on with their lives and with their search to find other vampires in the pacific northwest area in which to become a community and work tog... moreether to learn from each other. They are contacted by Rose in San Francisco, and journey there from Washington state to meet her and help persuade her to move to the new church they are converting into a house to fit them all.Eleisha, Wade & Philip think that Eleisha's sire, Julian, may have been killed when they fought him in the first book. He's not, and with the aid of a young, money-hungry guy whom Julian turns, and the ghost of a young female suicide victim whom Julian possesses with magic, Julian begins searching for Eleisha and her gang. Julian's plan is to let Eleisha find other vampires, and then kill all of them. less
