Noble Dead Saga: Series 3
review 1: Magiere, Leesil, Chap, Brot'an and Leanâlhâm sail south leaving behind Wynn, Chane, Shade and Osha in Calm Seatt. Our heroes at sea are pursued by six assassins sent by Most Aged Father. The sea voyage is relatively calm except for the internal tension between our heroic trio and the master assassin Brot'an until they reach the free port city of Drist. The novel is plagued by flash backs. Everyone and I mean every single character has one. It slowed the action down drastically for me. Yes, I wanted to know what happened to Magiere, Leesil and Chap after they left Wynn to hide the first orb. We learn their story and the brutal consequences of their actions. We also learn how Brot'an wound up with Leanâlhâm and Osha or how the two young elves wound up accompanying the ma... morester assassin half way across the world. I was happy to learn the back stories but wow, flash-back city. The epilogue was a cliff-hanger! I can't believe I have caught up to the newest novel and have to wait until January to find out what happens with Wynne and Osha, Chane and Shade! My marathon reading session has come to an abrupt end.
review 2: An improvement over the stale "Between Their Worlds" is both start of the search for the next orb by Magiere, Leesil and Chap along with the elves that both accompany them and are pursuing them. It is also part flashback as each character reminisces as they sail on events that happened to them while the last trilogy focussed On Wynn, Shade and the Noble Dead, Chane. it's a bit repetitive at times as characters relate the same events from their point of view but, there is far more actual action and intrigue then the last book and some of the incidents we are filled in on are quite compelling and point to some potential interesting events on the horizon for our beloved characters. And even when one of the Hendee's books falter as Between did, we still have these endearing characters to hold on to. The series seems to be getting back on track after the disappointing Between The Worlds, let's hope it continues it's forward momentum. less

Only one comment - this is rated so low because it felt like a filler book.
