review 2: I have two trains of thought about this lively, vibrant, totally appealing picture book. The first is that the target yo... moreunger audience of the book is not familiar with Ralph Waldo Emerson and the work of the 19th century Concord transcendentalists. Aside from some of his great quotes, I haven't read his work. So, some background would be helpful for younger audience.But, the story stands strong, even without any historical knowledge. it's the story of what make a home, and the power of community. It takes a village, as we know. On that alone, this is a wonderful story, and tie in the history it's a winner. less
