review 1: Again, another fantastic, riveting read. Only, there is a laughably obvious solution to their main dilemma and I was like 'well, no SHIT!' when they finally voiced said obvious solution. Pfft. Otherwise, loved it! Go drama, and even the annoying process of forgiving some people who deserve to be skinned alive for what they've been doing for centuries. I'm dealing with that element of the series quite well, thank you.
review 2: This book deals with Sophia and Derek having to be apart. She is a guest at the hunters headquarters being tested, while he is trying to work out things for the shade at the oasis. This gives his father, and brother the perfect timing to remove Derek as ruler. Vivienne who is Derek's twin helps all she can, and has gone through much tort
... moreure herself. Sophia's father believes his daughter must be brainwashed, and turns her over for training under Reuben, and his partner. They cannot understand how she could love Derek, and the Shade, yet she does. Who can she trust? Will Derek survive? Who is on their side, even though Sophia and Derek treat the inhabitants of the shade fair. Is war going to break out? These books just draw you in. Their characters are so well written, and you love to hate some of them, and pull for others. I cannot wait to begin the nextone in the series. Their love is supposed to bring his people to a safe sanctuary..will it? less

This one wasn't my favorite in the series so far but still a good one! For all Ingrid/Camilla's concern that Derek is going to turn Sophia into a weakling due to love, I think it's the other way around. He was a bit whiny in this book. I'll attribute it to the insane amount of stress and responsibility that rest on his shoulders but seriously, after how many hundreds of years he should have this under control and not want to run away.I did love seeing Sophia come into her own. Despite what all the men around her seem to have a problem grasping, no one can tell her what to do and how to do it. I was disappointed in Aiden and his scheming but I can't believe that the possibility presented isn't there. I just hope Sophia doesn't give up because it seems this time around Derek is the one doubting a happy ending.

Derek saved Sophia from the explosion at the Oasis, same place where Sophia set eyes on her estranged father Reuben and mother after so many years. Derek plans to never part ways from Sophia again so he follows her to the hunter headquarters where her father is in charge. Many things happen and Derek finds himself return to the Shade without Sophia. Meanwhile, Sophia is blaming her father knowing well Derek would never leave on his own accord. Returning to the Shade seems slim to none but she sets on a plan. Will her mother, a woman who resents her help her escape Hunter headquarters? hmm...Good book! Gets better
