review 1: This book offers some great wisdom and advice, and does a great job of balancing scripture, other sources, and narrative. I found the beginning to be too heavy on the author's own personal experiences before getting into the heart of the subject, or even really introducing more about intercession. I also got stuck on the many times that Johnson says "I believe that" or "I think that" without offering biblical context or where that personal conviction came from. That being said, I respect the fact that she makes the distinction between biblical truth and personal opinion.Overall, the book is well organized and easy to get through in a few hours. It met my expectations in terms of teaching me a bit more about intercession, but I probably wouldn't recommend it to a fr... moreiend.
review 2: This is a book for followers of Christ who want to experience God on a deeper level in their prayer lives. It was recommended by a friend of mine and I found it to be a very enjoyable read. Many of the concepts were new to me, as I am not from an Assemblies of God background and would not consider myself to be a charismatic Christian. However, I found that the author provided helpful examples and supported her ideas with Scripture. It is easy to forget the reality of the spiritual realm when confronted with the seeming urgencies of the physical realm. This was a good reminder that there's a lot going on and that we, as believers, have a roll in that drama. less
