review 1: This book really snagged my heart and I couldn't put it down. The story was told by the mother Claire McDermott. The story is told by all main characters Elizabeth, Charles, and Jeffrey. The story is heart wrenching and intense. Elizabeth is a child who was much loved by her mother and father. She falls in love with Jeffrey and they get married have 3 children. After the birth of her last child Elizabeth becomes sick with an inoperable brain tumor. Her husband is a selfish bastard who won't take her home and he keeps kids from her. The family is devastated about the treatment thier daughter receives from her husband. They take him to court over the custody issues. Eventually Elizabeth passes on . Claire and Charles are devastated. You must read this book to really get t... morehe full effect of the story!
review 2: I feel really sorry for Claire a lot of the time in this story and I often feel sorry for Charlie. I also felt incredibly sorry for Elizabeth that her husband was such an idiot. Is it wrong that I totally want to punch the character of Jeffrey right in his big, fat head? This is another one of those stories where I hesitate to say much because I don't want to give anything away. You just need to read this one for yourself, folks. I enjoyed the ending and in ways, Claire kind of reminded me of Olivia from Spare Change. Sometimes God gives us what we need rather than what we think we want. less

Good story but drawn out. Started to loose my interest but glad I stuck with it in the end.
