Nameless Detective
review 1: I've been reading Pronzini 's "Nameless Detective" books in order of their writing. However, I think this one is a later one as there are several changes that have taken place in his life that weren't covered the last book I read. Also, most of the book is about the new detective in the agency, which has also changed ownership. But, I like the way Pronzini writes. He weaves an interesting story & the characters are real, believable people. One of the main reasons I like the books both Pronzini & his wife, Marcia Muller, write is that they are set in San Francisco & northern California where I lived for a number of years. So I can picture the places. I have another audio book loaded & will listen to it soon.
review 2: Another of the Unnamed Detective stories. A
... moreman comes to the agency to hire them to find his ex-wife so that he can get papers signed for the Catholic Church's annulment as he wants to remarry. The wife is found but refuses to sign. The man calls them and says it is not his wife that they found. Then he disappears! What happened to him? Meanwile, Jake,Nameless's partner, has his own problems when Bryn, his girlfriend, suspects her ex-husband of physically abusing their son. less
