review 1: Hikaru has asked Haruhi to be his girlfriend, but he doesn't want her to answer him right away. At the same time, Hikaru is trying his best to get Tamaki to overcome his childhood trauma and realize his feelings for Haruhi before it's too late. But right as Tamaki begins to realize that what he feels for Haruhi is not fatherly love, a transfer student immediately clings to Tamaki, and even asks him to be her boyfriend after knowing him for only a week! Tamaki realizes that she is going through the same trauma that he had, and because of that, he doesn't know how to help her... But if even he does not know how to help her, what will he do instead? The last two volumes (13 and 14) of Ouran have made me want to make an AMV that revolves around this love triangle, but mostly Ta... moremaki and Haruhi, with the song The Scientist by Coldplay. I think it'd be a really good AMV for their current situation. Although... I never finished the anime, but the anime never even got hardly half this far, did it? It also had an alternate ending...Hikaru is changing so much. He and Haruhi would be cute together, but Haruhi and Tamaki would look more everlasting. I think Haruhi and Hikaru would be more of best friends, but given the way they both are, I think it was inevitable that both of the twins would fall in love with Haruhi. But as for Tamaki, there was a large chance that he'd develop a crush on her, but who would have thought he'd fall as deep in love with her as he has? And the poor guy can't even realize it until it's been staring him in the face for ages because of his harsh upbringing, and even so, he doesn't even know better! He didn't even know he had childhood trauma until Hikaru and Kyoya told him so.Oh, but I shouldn't have read this when I was sleepy. :/ I can't remember some things now... Oh, but Tamaki sure was admirable in many parts this volume. But... While I like this side of Tamaki, I almost like his idiot side better. He'll cheer you up no matter what, he can definitely give you strength with his admirable side, but he'll make you laugh and smile for the rest of the day, or even longer, with his goofy side. Tamaki says Haruhi doesn't need to try so hard, and that she's perfect the way she is, but I think he is just as perfect. Just like Haruhi, he's been thinking too hard about things lately. And Tamaki says he's only just realized how different he and Haruhi are, but they are still alike in some ways. Ah... But anyway... Maybe that isn't something you're supposed to tell someone...? Maybe I shouldn't say that to my on/off boyfriend then... Uurrr... Oh, and the kidnapping chapters were really exciting. I think the story progressed a lot from there, and it even matured a few characters, including Tamaki and the dry cleaner shop people.Ouran inspires me to try harder. I really want to try harder. It has always done this, in so many different ways. Years and years ago, when I was first into Ouran, it made me swear to myself that one day I would become as rich as them, or at least a little rich, and live the good life and go to the beach or other countries whenever I please! I haven't yet set that dream away, but I am also now inspired to try harder in school, and to reach the goal I've set for myself this new school year. (To complete my current assignments and as many future assignments that have been posted as soon as I can, without taking leisure breaks). There are also so many other things Ouran has inspired me to do in between, but... I want to try. I want to try to be the best I can be. And like Haruhi, I want to try everything, because it'll be good experience. (I thought this even before I read volumes 13 and 14, so this makes me love Ouran even more). Oh, and with all of the romantic scenes and attention that Haruhi keeps getting, it doesn't make me hate her at all like it normally would with other heroines. Maybe it is because Haruhi is the only one that actually deserves all of this affection so far... Oohh, and I loved it when Tamaki embraced Haruhi in the kidnapping episode! So precious... Lastly, even though it appears Kosaka is planning to do something good for Tamaki, I feel a dark and cold wind wafting in between the crevices of all the happiness the Host Club has built... I really do hope that this will end happily for every single one of the Host Club members.
review 2: OK, I totally fell for this series while watching the anime on Netflix. I thought it was super cute and wanted to read the manga series. While I have read the ending already, I did want to buy at least a few of the later volumes so I could refer back to them and revel in the adorableness.Plus, I find it very hard for me not to root for Tamaki and Haruhi. Even though I do like Hikaru as well, the concept of Tamaki and Haruhi is just to cute not to support. Besides, it's dorky love at it's best! less
