review 1: I bought this book on my Kindle and did not realize it was a Harlequin at first. I enjoyed the Intrigue brand. There was definitely a romance component to the book, but it was the mystery that was the driving force in the book. I did feel frustrated at how naive and easily fooled some of the character were (even the Marshall). Overall though, it was an enjoyable read to help me unwind and relax before bed.
review 2: I thoroughly enjoy the Cardwell Ranch novels they have strong characters and great stories full of suspense. I would've given this novel 5 stars but I was disappointed & shocked that Hud & Dana would believe the word of a complete stranger over Dana's bestfriend Hilde which has damaged & distanced their once very close friendship which may never tr... moreuly recover but only time will tell. I loved that @ least Colt believed Hilde & sensed something was terribly wrong with Dana's cousin I guess sometimes you can't see whats right in front of you. Now Colt & Hilde are madly in love & engaged. This was a great read & can't wait for the next Cardwell Ranch adventure!!! less
