review 1: This is Taylor's first book, and it was a fun ride. Despite some goofy plot details, the characters were believable, likable, and the story had some unexpected turns. I enjoyed it as I would a good action movie. The story was similar to those by Vince Flynn and Brad Thor, but I found him closest to author (and former SAS operative) Andy McNab. And to me, that is a good thing. I can't wait to start the next one in the series. Recommended.
review 2: Pike Logan is a more realistic portrayal of a real A team leader than I have ever seen published. Jack Reacher can't hold a candle to this charachter and the realism coming from Taylor's experience is fan friggin tastic. Vince Flynn copycat to a degree. Good, not great. The ending was the best/most suspenseful part.
