review 1: I just finished reading Fablehaven "Secrets of the Dragon Sanctuary" today and I absolutely loved it. Brandon Mull continues to raise the bar after each book in this series. One thing I enjoyed while reading this is that the action and conflict start right at the beginning of the book. Another thing I like is the idea where the reader is all knowing. When I'm reading this it pulls me in because the author allows the reader to know things that the characters don't! One of my favorite parts in the beginning was the description of Kendra's kidnapping. It left me feeling mysterious and eager to read more. One thing that annoys me about reading these books is Kendra's brother, Seth. He is a straight up trouble maker and Brandon Mull repeatedly creates the story so Seth ... morenever learns from his mistakes and continues to cause problems. One thing that I did not see coming at all was Gavon actually being Navarog! When I read that I was like "no way, where did that come from?" Props to the author for throwing a plot twist like that in there, it added a ton to the outcome! After reading this I felt very sure that this series was leaving me feeling very similar to when I read the Harry Potter series. At the end of every book it left me begging to read the next one. These stories create the same cliff hanger feeling. Mull always keeps his readers on edge, making them anxious to wait months for the next book to come out. With Seth becoming Shadow Charmer, it gives him a new ego and he now has something to match up with his sister's fairy kind powers. It brings them closer together since they both have something magical and Kendra is no longer always being better than Seth. The addition of the dragons to this book was AMAZING! Brandon took the stereotypes people already have of dragons and added a twist that gave me the vivid image of intenseness and violence that these dragons possess. Overall I loved this book and I will soon be reading the next one because my brother owns it!

WWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!!!!! BUT IT IS SO SAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY GAVIN? WHY?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They better rescue Warren in the next book or I will feel it a failure!!!!!!!! GAH!!!!!!!! Yeah, I think these books are getting more intense. I'm getting too into the story and too emotionally attached to the characters. less
