review 1: I waffled back and forth on whether or not I liked this book. I think a lot of explanation is missing in this book. It makes it sometimes confusing and I kind of felt like the author didn't have a good explanation for it either, so it just was. That being said, the adventure aspect of the book is good and I think kids will like it for that. I can see this series as a recommendation for the kids who like the Percy Jackson series.
review 2: I liked this book. It was a perfect adventure especially for my kids. My 11 year old loved it! It had a crazy twist in it especially at the beginning. Brandon Mull really caught me off guard with that one. The only reason I didn't give it a four star is well I guess because I am an adult and it was a great kids adventure and ... moreeven though I really liked it… Unfortunately, I guess I am still craving something a little more suspenseful. My 8 year old will be reading this next and I know that he will love it.! less
