review 1: Dammit. Who would've thought that Philippine folklore mixed with noir can turn out to be this delicious? Trese is just one of those graphic novels fit for all ages. Illustrations were superb given that Kajo Baldisimo's hand is at work. Budjette Tan's amazing story lines may just be the beacon needed by Filipino comic book artists to regain their top spot as one of the premier entertainers in graphic literature. Enough said.
review 2: I'm not really into comics before, because I find it too childish and lack of literary content. But my pre-judgement changed when I decided to give it a try and start to read the first installment of Trese. It was kind of awesome actually. The story was smooth, the twist were unexpected and the good thing about that was the author ... moreuses a female character(very rare to happen for detective-fiction kind of story)which made me want to continue reading it and asked for more. So if you find Sherlock Holmes & Detective Conan as witty and skillful detectives, why don't you try Trese? She'll definitely give you a good show too.Promise. less
