review 1: I had forgotten how much i loved this book. while it is only short, coming in at around 170 pages this book is a retelling of jack and the beanstalk and Robin hood. it contains the cutest little romance with characters that i fell in love with from the beginning. while the romance is under developed (you can only do so much in under 200 pages) it was adorable. when you add to that the amazing quotes and the fact that is written by one of my favourite queens of fairy-tales i am surprised it too me so long to pick up this book for a reread
review 2: I never thought that a short spin-off of "Jack and the Beanstalk" and "Robin Hood" would captivate me- but it did. The characters' lively personalities truly bring cheer to the reader. As with "Golden", "The Storyte... moreller's Daughter", and "Wild Orchid", Dockey successfully brings an old fairytale to a new and enjoyable light. This is undoubtably a must read for those looking for a short and light read. less
