review 1: I've really enjoyed the books in this series so far. I love the family dynamics and the secondary characters of the town. Both Abby and Jackson are definitely lovable characters, as is Izzy, Jackson's daughter. My only real complaint about this book is that I wished there was WAY less miscommunication. Just talk, people! The drama at 90% was sort of just silly to me, too. Not what happened to Jackson but how he played it. Overall, I read this book in a flurry and can't wait to start Jesse's story!
review 2: I always enjoy the first love reunited theme. Jackson and Abby were always best friends growing up, but they kept their stronger feelings to themselves. I can imagine the fear they felt about possibly losing the friendship if they confessed to more, but it
... morewould be hard to dismiss it after being intimate with each other. The disappointment and hurt that Abby must have felt after Jackson brushed it off and acted like it hadn't happened, both times, would have had me running too. When Abby returns to town, I love how Jackson doesn't waste any time in heading right over to see her. And, I really enjoyed the easy nature of their friendship. They could be honest with each other, about everything except their true feelings. There were times he could be so childish and short-tempered, but others when he was the sweetest and sexiest of the Wilder boys. Izzy, his daugher, provides so many Ahh moments. His relationship with his ex-wife, Fiona, deserves a medal. They have tremendous love and affection for each other, but just not the kind of love for marriage. It was a lot of fun to see Jackson and Abby getting to know each other again and have trouble keeping their hands off one another. These two were setting off smoke detectors when they were together. Thank goodness Jackson is a sexy fireman to help with that. You can't go wrong with this book. I love all these characters and this sweet town. less
