review 1: Dolcezza allo stato puro, ecco cosa troviamo tra queste righe.Jake e Nate si conoscono da quando sono nati. Letteralmente. Le loro madri erano grandi amiche e hanno deciso di fare tutto insieme: fidanzarsi, sposarsi ed avere una famiglia. Mai scelta fu più azzeccata.Nate e Jake crebbero come fratelli e non potevano fare a meno l'uno dell'altro. Facevano tutto insieme. I compiti, le ricerche, i giochi. Tutto, fin quando Nate ha capito di essere gay e, per puro sbaglio di inesperienza nei rapporti tra persone, rifiuta Jake, che gli rimane comunque accanto in ogni momento della sua vita, fin quando vanno ad abitare insieme a New York.Nate fa lo scienziato e Jake il poliziotto. Jake è talmente bravo che lavora sotto copertura e Nate diventa uno scienziato di tutto rispetto p... moreerché per lui la matematica è un linguaggio semplicissimo (per me non è mai stato così! D:).Abitano insieme anche nella grande città, aiutandosi a vicenda e proteggendosi fin quando Jake porta Nate in vacanza, dicendo che l'altro ragazzo era troppo stressato, ed era veramente così.Dopo una sera di bagordi, Jake capisce alla perfezione ciò che vuole nella sua vita, e ciò che vuole è Nate. Con tutte le sue forze.Quella sera però, manda in confusione completa Nate, che non riesce a capire cosa sta succedendo fin quando Jake non tenta di spiegarsi, trovandosi a dover dire proprio tutto ad uno scienziato brillante come il suo amatissimo coinquilino.Questo romanzo mi ha fatto innamorare ancora di più della scrittura di Cardeno C. .Le parole viaggiano leggere e veloci, per nulla inappropriate o altisonanti e la storia d'amore è semplicemente dolce, gentile e molto tenera.E' come se vivessimo tutto insieme a loro, piaceri, dolori e risate, e mi è piaciuto perché è stato un viaggio ricco di emozioni intense e fantastiche.Con Jake e Nate troviamo quell'amore che sogniamo tutti, quello intenso e palpabile, che ci fa battere forte il cuore, come se il nostro partner potesse sentirlo e farlo proprio, facendoci vivere in eterno solo perché lui sa che il nostro cuore batte per lui.Chi di voi non ha mai sognato un amore del genere? Beh, con questo romanzo lo potrete vivere insieme a Jake e Nate, sorridendo e piangendo insieme a loro e, perché no, eccitandovi con loro per le stupende e bellissime scene colme di Eros, passione ed amore!Consigliato a chi ha bisogno di coccolarsi, di sentire un palpito d'amore e a chi ha voglia di fare un viaggio sensuale!
review 2: Where He Ends and I Begin is very nice and sweet and cheesy and sometimes just a little too much over the top in the kitsch department. Don't take me wrong, I do love me some sweet romances but the problem with this book doesn't lie with its sweetness but the fact that there's hardly any conflict and what little there is, is solved in the first 30% of the story. Jake and Nate have loved each other since their earliest childhood. While Nate is openly gay, Jake only ever was interested in Nate, otherwise he favours the fairer sex and is quite the womanizer. Both are consumed by the love they feel for the other, but fate, non-existent communication and plain stupidity keeps them from each other. However, thirty percent into the book they find their love and after that everything goes just as they wish. They decide to move back to their Southern small town where they grew up. Everyone is totally ok with them being a couple, no hostility is there to be found and because life is so easy they find the perfect jobs and even get the offer to adopt a small girl. Nice but boring. I really enjoy C. Cardeno's writing style very much and one of her big talents is to suck me right into her stories, to make me ache and suffer with the heroes, to love, live and laugh with them which was a bit difficult in this story because it was lacking true charisma.
