review 1: It wasn't all that I had hoped for. I have read one of Carolyn's books and loved it. The cover to this one just spoke to me. The story itself didn't. I liked the premise and of course the rancher cowboys everywhere. I only wished for more real cowboy romance happening. I hated that the MC had so much denial that she wanted and truly meant to be with Jackson. Jackson and their daughter were the highlight of this book for me. Although, the drunk wanna be girl was quit entertaining. Especially listening to it on audio. I will go back to the series I fell for.
review 2: SECOND CHANCE ROMANCELoretta has been divorced from her husband for seventeen years, she left him after she caught him kissing another woman. Young and hotheaded she ran taking her three year old
... more daughter Nona with her.Present day and Nona is is one year away from graduating from college, but she's decided she's not finishing school instead she's staying on her fathers ranch to live the life she loves. Loretta hasn't seen her ex-husband in years but is on her way to his ranch she's determined that Nona is going to go back to school come hell or high water, even if it means that Loretta has to put up with being near Jackson her ex for the summer.First read for me by this author. I really liked her writing style it flows drawing you into the story. Loretta is a fiery redhead with a take no prisoners attitude. Jackson is rather more laid back, he and Loretta had always been a hot mess together, they married young after Loretta became pregnant. What was nice was that although their characters have not altered with age, they have learnt to deal better with their pasts and the present. This is a traditional romance, it's not erotic nor is it filled with loads of sex scenes, so some might find it rather tame. What it does show is a couple reconnecting and finding their way through all the drama, secrets and lies that have affected their lives. less
