review 1: This one seems to be a little on the weird side. I thought having everyone going around falling all over themselves for the "Daddy's girl" phenomena was bad, but the boll weevil was not only oh too obvious a twist, it also did not make sense biologically.However, the details were well done, even if the characters appear to bright but clueless. I enjoy this unusual look at the south, and although I did not like this story much, at least Sarah Booth is moving out of the pathetic child stage. Now if she could only grow up...

This story starts with Sarah Booth's husband, Oscar sick with an illness that the CDC can't even explain. There are 3 others in the same dilemma. From a previous near death case, Sarah Booth has a short lived Hollywood career and a movie star boyfriend, named Graf. As she works on the case, there is a glimpse of men in her town of Zinnia and past romances with them, especially the sheriff, Coleman.Her friends support her as her boyfriend is in California filming a movie. Her resident ghost, Jitty is there to give her advice as well. As she starts to investigate, the Carlisle House where the trouble began she finds out that the Carlisle family has a lot of tragic circumstances that may have led to death and greed. There are several suspects throughout the book and Sarah is close to death. Lots of turns through this mystery. less
