The mage haunting her isn't acting alone-and he won't rest until he destroys both Paisley and Iskande... morer.I fell in love with a blog post about this book on Heroes and Heartbreakers and then went and read the first chapter on Ms. Jewel’s website, then finally caved and bought the book. I felt a little confused in the middle of the book with certain character’s and what was going on and how people meet etc but other than that, as My Dangerous Pleasure was the fourth book in the Witches series I felt that it was an otherwise great book to start with. I really liked Iskander I thought he was a great hero and guy for Paisley, they really suited each other and made My Dangerous Pleasure such a sweet and fun read.I think the blurb really does sum the book up without giving away any spoilers or giving you the whole story. There’s a really humorous scene in the book with another character sna Paisley about some brownies which really made me giggle! I really enjoyed the other character’s in the book and plan to at least go back and read the first book and see how this series starts, after that though I’m not sure if I’ll read any more in the series because although I enjoyed the book and the different twist with the idea of demons/fiends I’m not 100% sure this is the series for me.Favourite Quotes:“They ended up stretched out on the couch with his body over hers, and while he was French-kissing her for all he was worth, he thought dirty thoughts about Paisley and sex, but he kept coming back to thinking up ways to make her want to stay with him.”“It means she’s been free to find someone who won’t treat her badly. Hmm?” Her eyebrows quirked. “Do you treat her well, young man?”“As well as I know how.”Overall, I enjoyed My Dangerous Pleasure it was a fun, sweet and interesting read but I would suggest people read this series in order.
review 2: A GYN once told me that libido has less to do with your body than your mind (as if they work separately) so apparently the cure for a low libido would be this book! If this book were a sex toy, it would know where the g spot is and what to do with it and have a a robotic tongue. Aside from having interesting characters (hot and with personalities) and a plot with a couple of major twists this book is evidence that Jewel's writing of intimate scenes has gotten even better than the last of her books I read, My Wicked Enemy. She uses correct, if not entirely medical terms interspersed with other language, balancing both without seeming crude or clinical. It just all seems hot. I recently read a book wherein a man's crude language sent a woman over the edge into orgasm. If any words, written or spoken could cause orgasm, I am pretty sure this book would be the first.And, of course the one cliche part is as noted above in the spoiler, and it is pretty obvious with his first inclination towards protecting her and being jealous what will happen between them. Both romantic primary characters have been hurt and they have to trust and accept before real intimacy is possible. But if the eventually get there why would we complain about it?Well, I have to go take a cold shower now....On a scale of Sweet Red Pepper to Habañeros this is one hot Habañero of a novel!If you want to read hot page scorching, Kindle melting sex, I highly recommend this book. less
