review 1: Me ha encantado el libro. Dudaba entre ponerle 4 o 5 estrellas, pero le pongo 5 porque me parece injusta la nota tan bajita que tiene para lo bueno que me ha parecido el libro.No habría llegado a dudar de ponerle 5 estrellas si todo el libro hubiese estado escrito con el mismo buen humor del principio; pero hay algún capítulo narrado en un tono un pelín deprimente que no pega con el resto del libro. No es que sea pesado, ni aburrido ni excesivamente dramático, simplemente se hecha de menos el tono divertido.Fácil de leer, romántico, muy ameno... de los que te dejan con ganas de más.
review 2: I debated four or five stars for this, but ultimately, I don't think I'd change anything (okay, a few typos I wish an editor had caught,) so I went with five. And... more I am SO 100% okay with the fade-to-black sex scenes. There are a few movies that make me swoon where you don't even see the leads KISS. I can imagine what comes next just fine. I loved these guys; I loved how the story unfolded; that is ALL I need to be happy.I definitely didn't find this book to be funny ha ha, just genial and kind of light of heart, if you know what I mean. Emory's inertia seemed so understandable to me, as a longtime resident of the upper midwest. You can't swing a dead cat in the town where I grew up without hitting an Emory or two. I mean, just the self-deprecation! Oh, goodness yes. He rings so true for me, from page one to The End. I may or may not display a few Emory-like qualities from time to time (ahem) and the fairy tale of a Nate finding an Emory and booting him out of his inertia and into another nicer inertia with enjoyable companionship and regular sex is what on many days I'd consider livin' the dream, in all honesty.Bottom line, The Other Guy is a charmer. I will be revisiting it, probably soon and often. less
