Emily Taylor Mystery
review 1: This was a fast great read. I liked the whole mystery behind Nathaniel and the murders. I also really liked the setting of the town. I could picture it surrounded by the water and the cover was great! I always like the swampy small town scene it makes for a great setting to be spooked at! I was disturbed by the animal abuse though. It is always hard to read graphic things like that regarding defenseless animals when you know it really is happening somewhere in the world. The author did have a note for the reader at the end of the book however in regards to the animal abuse part of the book and that was a good gesture. The story did pull me in and I was surprised with the ending on who was responsible for the killings. I will read the 2nd book to the series if there is... more one.
review 2: This is the first of the Emily Taylor series by Catherine Astolfo. I have actually read two of these, but I like this one better. Emily is an elementary school principal, and she is also a fit and friendly middle-aged woman who has some mystery in her background. She is also one heck of a good sleuth. She finds herself caught up in a situation with sibling children and their extremely odd family, which leads to tracking down some history that will affect several of Emily's good friends. It was a good, quick read - the perfect thing for a summer's day. less
