review 1: My book is "The Day I Killed James". This book is about a girl named Theresa that thought she was the reason a close friends of hers died. So you see her and her boyfriend (Randy) thought it would be a great idea for them to take a break for a while. That didn't go so hot with Theresa because she thought she couldn't live with out him. Her friends Frieda has parties all the time and one was coming up. Theresa didn't like that because Randy was going to take another girl to that party. So, Theresa decided to take her neighbor James to make Randy jealous. But, you see James really like Theresa and he has been waiting for Theresa to ask him to do something so he was all up for the idea. Theresa and James ride up to the party on James motorcycle as her name was painted on the ... moregas tank. They wait awhile in side the barn because Randy was not yet there. Then Randy shows with the girl and they go into a stall to do naughty stuff. So James knows why he's there so he decides to go in the stall next to them and pretend to be naughty. Randy gets out slams the stall door and walks away. James gets out to get a glass of water for Theresa. Randy walks up to her and they make out James sees it and rides away on his motorcycle. He commits suicide. Theresa blames herself she becomes a whole different person she even changes her name shaves her head and also moved away. Her new name now is Annie Stewart. So she is really crazy at first but towards the end of the book she mellows down to become a half way descent person. Instead of doing drugs and smoking and shaving her head.
review 2: From reading this text I learned to not be careless with other peoples hearts. The heartfelt story really opens the minds of teenagers with grief and proves anyone can truly be forgiven. Written in a personal diary style, Theresa confronts her guilt and encounters lifelong friends.I would recommend this because it elicits emotions that will captivate and take you on a journey of love and amnesty. less
